A: Absolutely. The Super Sixes is about participation and enjoyment, as much as competition. Students competing must be Year 6. Only those schools that do not have a big enough roll to make up a whole team out of Year 6 Students may include year 5 students from their school.
Q: Is there a minimum amount of sports you can enter or do you have to enter a team into every sport?
A: You can enter as many teams or sporting codes as you like. There are no minimum entries. This event is designed to suit schools of all sizes and ensure you can also fit into any financial restrictions you may have.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Each school will pay one entry fee depending on the size of the school and that will entitle them to enter as many teams as they like across as many sports as they can.
A: We will have online payment options when registration opens. These include direct debit, VISA or alternatively an invoice can be made.
Q: What is the programme of events?
A: The follwing is a draft programme based on the previous tournaments:
Day one (Wednesday)
Registration at the foyer of Mitre10 Park (8.30 - 9.15am)
Opening Ceremony 9.15am-9.40am (Mitre10 Park)
Netball, Touch Rugby and Football 9.50am Manager's meeting and competition 10am – 2:00pm (Mitre10 Park)
Evening social activity – Velocity Entertainment
Day two (Thursday)
Basketball - (Mitre10 Park using the Netball Courts, note this is an outdoor competition and will continue in light drizzle)
Ki-O-Rahi, Hockey, T-Ball, Canoe Polo 9.15am Manager's meeting and competition 9:30am – 2:00pm (Mitre10 Park)
Q: Where will the games be held?
A: ALL of the sports take place at Mitre 10 Park Hawke's Bay which is at 42 Percival Road at Hastings end of the Napier-Hastings expressway. The Opening Ceremony and registration takes place here also.
Q: Can my Year Five students take part to make up our school team?
A: Whilst Super Sixes is primarily designed for Year Six students we understand that some schools require us to be flexible so that they can make up teams. Year Five students will be permitted if you have no other option to make up a team. Year Seven & Eight students are unable to take part. Smaller schools could also look to combine with other schools if you need to make up numbers. Please make contact with other schools directly.
Q: If one of my students drops out can I get a refund?
A: Yes, as long as we are informed before the 31th August.
Q: If we are unable to attend do we get a refund?
A: Yes, as long as we are informed before the 31st August. After the 31st August, there will be no refund available.
